The Institute of International Finance (IIF) is one of the world’s largest global associations of financial institutions with nearly 500 members in more than 75 countries. We provide economic and financial analysis to our members, serve as a forum for exchanging views and developing proposals on global regulatory issues; and represent our members from the private financial community in discussions with the public sector on global economic and financial policy issues.
Digital finance is a core priority for the IIF, with a dedicated function focused on this area. The Senior Policy Advisor will play a key role in advancing IIF’s work on the regulatory, policy and other implications of new technologies and business models in the financial services industry. The responsibilities will include developing industry positions and strategy around digital regulation and policy, data policy, and cybersecurity. The position will also contribute to IIF efforts to promote regtech, to advance technology-driven solutions to advancing financial inclusion, and to produce research around key topics such as the future of crypto assets, AI, ML, the cloud, etc. The Senior Policy Advisor will be based in Singapore and, as a result, s/he will also be responsible for developing and enhancing relationships with current and potential members in the region, as well as with relevant regional stakeholders in the official sector and the media.
Applicants should have at least five years of directly relevant experience in technology and finance (and ideally in related regulatory and policy issues). Experience may be in the tech sector, financial services industry or at a related trade association, regulatory body, or regulatory/technology consulting firm. Also required are: a graduate degree in a related field; strong command of regulatory regimes for financial services firms; fluency in English and excellent oral and written communication skills.
